NSW Central Coast for Families
NSW Central Coast for Families
NSW Central Coast...
- Where beach meets bush.
- Only a hours drive from Sydney or Newcastle.
- Bursting at the seams with fun for families.
The Entrance and Terrigal are my top two picks for places to visit on the NSW Central Coast.
The Entrance
The Entrance is an aquatic playground for visitors. Home to the Central Coast's Visitor Information Centre hub, The Entrance is lined with cafes, restaurants and ice creameries, plus the Entrance Beach and ocean baths, the famous daily pelican feed, the historic carousel, watersports, bike trails and fresh seafood. This is one of the Central Coast's most popular tourist spots.
Top 4 things to see and do:
Pelican Feeding
The Pelican Feed takes place on the Entrance waterfront each day at 3:30pm and is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the Central Coast.
Vera’s Water Garden
Always a hot with the children, Vera's Water Garden can dangle their feet in the wading pool, run through the water sprays and climb over the brightly coloured fountains.
It offers ample seating with shaded areas and free Wifi and is situated on the foreshore next to Memorial park.
This is a free activity - great for the whole family.
The Entrance Ocean Baths and Beaches
Have a dip in the Entrance Ocean Baths -the only ocean pool on the Central Coast.
There is a 50m pool as well as a children's pool.
Norah Head Lighthouse and Beaches
Perched on a headland, the lighthouse takes in spectacular views and is the Central Coast's most magnificent icons. A walking track surrounds the lighthouse and leads to stairs which climb down to the rock platform below and to Lighthouse Beach.
Terrigal
Terrigal is the most popular coastal village on the Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia. Terrigal offers many accommodation options, boutique shops, a vibrant nightlife and trendy cafes. Enjoy swimming, surfing, kayaking, fishing, snorkelling or scuba diving.
Top 4 things to see and do:
The Skillion
A local landmark that you can hike to the top to and experience amazing views of the beautiful coastline from the lookout.
Local Markets
The Avoca Beach Markets run every 4th Sunday of the month are offer craft and food stalls as well as live music and a family-friendly vibe.
Tree Top Adventure Park
Experience the iconic Australian bush like never before. Get up-close and personal with native Australian wildlife and magnificent Gum trees, as you climb, weave and fly through the tree tops on self-guided rope courses. Flex your adventurous spirit and test yourself mentally and physically with over 100 elevated obstacles with rope ladders, wobbly bridges, tunnels, cargo-nets and zip lines.
